Smooth sailing..
At band practice last night I realized a few things. The first, I’m thankful for friday night practices. They can turn into an unexpected series of events like loading into Gabe’s pilot and attempting to get a drink at the overly-crowded new trendy bar, Whiskey Kitchen. After a failed attempt to request a table for four over the blaring music, we turned ourselves back into the rain and headed to the End to see our friend’s Diarrhea Planet melt our faces with their less than subtle lyrics and the promise of free PBR with admission. After 35 minutes of crowd surfing, chanting about Ghosts, and me thinking I should have worn my belly shirt I smiled to myself and said Belmont University’s favorite tag line that had come to fruition.. “From here to anywhere.” This truly is the case these days.
I also realized that I am very thankful for Gabe’s ability to whistle. Steven and I always seem to crack the tiniest smile inevitably wrecking our chances to carry the “hook” of birds come the second verse. We make eye contact, squeeze our cheeks and look over to Gabe who is faithfully whistling like he’s working. It’s a beautiful thing really.
Every morning I text the boys an inspirational quote, which may or may not be a joke, accompanied by the weather. This morning I asked all the boys what their favorite color is and what time of day they like best. The answers… will astound you! (Plese imply the tention of the final rose of the rose ceremony, or if you’re more of a lost fan, the sit on the edge of your seat moment prior to the commercial break.)
The next pledge updates will include the unbelievable secret information that will shock you! Stay tuned for scenes from the next.. Update. But now..
David Krohn’s favorite color is black. Black is the color of objects that do not emit or reflect light in any part of the visible spectrum; they absorb all such frequencies of light. Although black is sometimes described as an “achromatic”, or hueless, color, in practice it can be considered a color, as in expressions like “black cat” or “black paint”.
There you have it. Thanks for your pledge.. tell your friends. We are almost there and on our way to play sxsw at the ASCAP showcase, which we’ve heard will be for over 1,000 folks. Holy toledo..
